How is Laser Hair Removal performed?
During laser hair removal Maffi Laser Clinic uses state-of-the-art laser technology that produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The heat emitted by the laser is absorbed by pigmented hair follicles, thereby impeding their re-growth. The beauty of laser hair removal is that multiple hair follicles can be destroyed at one time, allowing large areas to be treated in just a few treatment sessions. Laser hair removal is performed under topical anesthesia. Cooling of the skin is an essential component of the procedure for patient comfort. This involves the use of a special contact-cooling hand piece that makes treatment comfortable, even on the most sensitive skin. Depending on the color and thickness of the hair as well as the size of the treatment area, the laser hair removal procedure may last anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Repeat treatment sessions are necessary for the best outcome. Call Maffi Laser Clinic today to schedule a personal consultation 480.505.6430.

What is and what causes varicose and spider veins?
Varicose veins are small or large vein that bulge above the surface of the skin and can range from skin colored to red, blue or purple. Most commonly they are seen on the inside or back of lower legs but are also found on other parts of the legs and body. These varicose veins can appear like bulging twisted ropes or raised and straighter in appearance.
A family history of varicose veins will predispose a person to developing them. This is an inherited weakness of the valves within the veins. Other causes can include: Injuries from sports, a traumatic injury, hormonal changes, pregnancy, obesity and prolonged standing can aggravate existing conditions. Interested in learning more? Will I have scars when varicose and spider veins are removed?
Surface varicose veins are removed cosmetically through tiny punctures (mircrophlebectomy) which will leave a small “dot” at the most. Everyone heals differently, but normally after time the areas are not noticeable. Sun exposure should be avoided while in the healing process to reduce the change of hyperpigmentation (brown marks). How long can the results of Hand Rejuvenation last?
The results of skin tightening will depend on the type of treatment used. To help prolong your hand rejuvenation results, it is important to avoid sun exposure and regularly applying moisturizer to help nourish your skin. Temporary fillers usually last from three months to one year. Fat grafts are usually long-lasting and injections may be repeated when necessary. Patients with a history of impaired healing, such as diabetes, ongoing sun exposure, and smoking (or exposure to secondhand smoke) will see a less dramatic initial result and a shorter lasting result. What is an IPL?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. IPL shines bright, intense light on various parts of the skin. The apparatus is pressed to the problematic areas of the skin, emitting a light that heats up collagen beneath the skin, encouraging the body to produce more of this beneficial protein. Enhanced collagen production can fill in fine lines or wrinkles on the face as well as some shallow acne scars. IPL technology also reduces flushing and discoloration on the skin. What is Laser Resurfacing?
Laser resurfacing is an effective way of reversing the damaging effects of sun exposure, aging and lifestyle habits (such as smoking) on the quality, color and texture of your skin. Resurfacing lasers are either ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers use rapid pulses of high -intensity light to remove the damaged upper layers of your skin, thereby smoothing and tightening the skin, removing wrinkles, and correcting pigmentation problems. Non-ablative lasers are non-wounding and less invasive; they act by stimulating collagen growth and tightening the underlying skin. Every patient’s skin is different so it’s important to meet and examine your skin to recommend the best procedures.
