Maintain youthful skin, reverse environmental damage with BBL (Broadband Light) Photofacial treatments.
The effects of sun exposure, an active lifestyle and the natural aging process have an impact on the health and appearance of your skin. As “the next generation of IPL” a BBL Photofacial treatment restores your skin’s natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, and more vibrant.
Light therapy is one of the best weapons in a skin health regimen. Using specific light filters, BBL Photofacial targets discoloration, sun damage, broken capillaries and veins. Light therapy improves skin tone by stimulating cell renewal and the production of collagen and elastin. With virtually no downtime, BBL Photofacial is easy to incorporate into your regimen. BBL PHOTOFACIAL QUESTIONS
Skin rejuvenation occurs as pulses of light energy delivered from the BBL gently heat the upper layers of skin. Specific light filters target selected areas such as sun spots or freckles (brown pigmentation) or redness from broken capillary vessels and rosacea. The targeted areas absorb the heat fading pigmentation and minimizing redness. Skin cells respond by stimulating collagen, improving the appearance and health of damaged skin.
Prior to the treatment, your provider will assess your skin for recent sun exposure. We recommend avoiding sun exposure 7 days prior to a BBL treatment. Protective eye shields will be applied. As the treatment begins you will feel warmth or a “rubber band snap” sensation to the area the BBL is delivering light energy. The treatment will last 20 – 30 minutes, depending on the area.
There is no downtime, you should be able to resume your normal activities after the treatment.
Following your treatment you may notice some redness, like a mild sunburn. This will resolve in a few hours. Pigmented lesions will darken and slough off in 7 – 10 days. Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen daily. Maffi Laser Clinic recommends SkinCeuticals BBL Photofacial Essentials to complement your treatment and optimize your results.
Broadband Light (BBL) treatments are effective at treating all areas of the body. The most common areas are face, neck, décolleté, back of hands, and forearms.
If you have never had a BBL treatment, we recommend 3 treatments spaced one month apart for optimal results. To maintain results, schedule a BBL treatment every 6 months. Studies have shown that treating your skin with light therapy two or three times a year significantly delays skin aging.
