DERMAPLANING

A fast exfoliation treatment for smoother, brighter skin.

Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation procedure that removes the top layer of dulling skin cells and peach fuzz hairs.

Eliminating this top layer reveals smoother, brighter skin. With instant results and no downtime, it’s a great treatment for maintaining an even, healthy glow!

In this painless procedure, a sterile Skinceuticals 10 Blade is used to gently remove dead skin cells and facial hair. Performed on the face and neck, Dermaplaning leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft. Removing the top layer of dull skin allows for better penetration of skincare products and a smoother application of makeup. Watch Dermaplaning treatment video.

Dermaplaning promotes deeper product penetration.
Change your complexion to smooth and soft.
Skin cells turn over every 3 to 4 weeks.

dermaplaning QUESTIONS

Dermaplaning is great for all skin types except for those with active acne. Dermaplane may cause skin irritation, so it is better to wait for acne to clear. Cell turnover slows with age, leading to the buildup of dead skin cells and duller skin.

Dermaplaning should be done every four weeks. It takes approximately three to four weeks for skin cells to rejuvenate.  It is best to allow the skin to complete this cycle before undergoing another treatment.

Dermaplane has no side effects or downtime. Your skin may appear pink directly after treatment and an SPF will be applied before you leave.

A Dermaplane treatment takes about 30 minutes with no downtime. Dermaplaning is painless. It feels similar to a dry toothbrush moving across your skin.

The fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) will grow back the same size and color, not thicker or darker. Removing the fine hair by Dermaplaning helps to eliminate any dirt and oil that may have accumulated.

Yes! Dermaplaning can be a stand-alone treatment with great results. At Maffi Skin Clinic it is also part of our HydraFacial and Hydradermabrasion treatments, Chemical Peels, and Micropeel.

Dermaplaning should be done by a licensed aesthetician who is trained in the special technique of resurfacing the skin. To be effective it requires handling a surgical scalpel properly on tautly stretched skin.
