Following a Fractionated CO2 laser treatment, the skin may look and feel like a bad sunburn. There will be redness, swelling and possible pinpoint bleeding. The skin takes about 7 days to heal. The treated area will scab over, then slough off, revealing newly rejuvenated pink skin. The rejuvenated pink skin will gradually lighten over the coming two to three months. It is important to protect this freshly rejuvenated skin. Minimize exposure to sun and apply sunscreen daily.
Skin Tightening with Fractionated CO2 Laser Treatments
THE GOLD STANDARD
Skin Tightening with Fractionated CO2 Laser Treatments
Fractionated CO2 laser treatments continue to grow in popularity. This laser treatment can dramatically help improve wrinkles, age spots, acne scarring and facial blemishes as well as tighten and tone the skin. The tightening effect from Fractionated CO2 laser treatments can address delicate areas such as the lower eyelid and vertical lines around the mouth.
HOW IT WORKS
Fractionated laser treatments use tiny beams of laser energy that penetrate deep into the skin, creating small zones of heat injury. Areas of the outer layer of skin (epidermis) where the laser penetrates are removed, the underlying skin (dermis) is heated. Areas outside the laser zones are not damaged. The zones of injury stimulate the production of collagen, healthy new skin cells begin to grown. After the healing process, the new skin can appear tighter, smoother and firmer.
