Maffi’s Ultra Pure PRP Duo combines PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections with a PRP Facial for a complete facial rejuvenation treatment. This two-treatment process begins with a PRP Facial. A small amount of blood will be drawn by one of Maffi’s registered nurses. The blood sample is processed, separating the platelet rich plasma from the blood cells.
The skin is microneedled using SkinPen, a small hand-held device with tiny needles. The platelet rich plasma is then placed topically onto the skin’s surface which absorbs into microchannels created by the microneedling, infusing into the full surface of the face and neck. PRP Injections follow the PRP Facial. The remaining plasma is injected into areas designated for rejuvenation including under the eyes, nasolabial folds, lips and neck. The injection process places a concentrated amount of PRP into the deeper layer of the skin. This combination promotes healing both on the surface and deep within the layers of the skin.
Step 1: Planning for your PRP Duo
Treatments last about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Most patients will require up to 3 treatments spaced 6 – 8 weeks apart
Step 2: Pre-procedure Care
Avoid NSAIDs and Aleve 24 – 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.
One week prior to your scheduled appointment, avoid Omega-3 (fish oil) capsules, Vitamin E or aspirin, reduce blood thinners, fish oils and Vitamin E, if possible.
Hydrate with water prior to and day of treatment.
Notify your aesthetician prior to your treatment if you have a history of cold sores.
Step 3: POST-PROCEDURE CARE
Avoid any activity that causes excessive sweating or flushing, including hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms or outdoor activities for 24 hours.
Wait 24 hours before applying makeup.
Avoid active products such as Retinols, Retin-A and Glycolic Acids for 5 – 7 days
Avoid picking, scratching, scrubbing or exfoliating for 4 – 7 days.
Limit sun exposure.
